In 2012, Gavin Peacock, the Plymouth Paedophile, was convicted after being discovered with several obscene images of minors on two mobile phones.
Gavin Peacock pleaded guilty to 19 counts of producing indecent images of a child and two counts of possessing indecent photographs of children.
The 35-year-old resident of Alexandra Road received a 26-week prison sentence, suspended for two years, along with a two-year supervision mandate.
Plymouth Crown Court mandated his participation in a sexual offending conduct program.
A friend of Gavin Peacock’s found the images in July of the previous year while he was using one of his mobile devices to download music, as stated in court. The man surrendered the phone to the police, who subsequently apprehended Gavin Peacock and confiscated a second phone from his flat.
Officers discovered both static and dynamic photographs, exclusively of boys, classified from Category One to Category Five, with the latter representing the most explicit category.
Included were 128 obscene photographs classified as Category 4 and two classified as Category 5.
Emma Birt, in support of Gavin Peacock, characterised him as an inexperienced individual with no prior offences who is “embarrassed, distressed, and profoundly ashamed” of his conduct.
She stated: ‘He consented to the transmission of these images to his mobile phone and complied, not wanting to appear ‘unfriendly,’ his own term, possibly reflecting his naivety in avoiding confrontation with the guys he encountered in internet chat rooms’.
She stated that Gavin Peacock had been admitted to the Glenbourne psychiatric unit in Plymouth, from which he was permitted to attend the hearing.
Now, in 2025, Gavin Peacock is back on Grindr.
