Kent Police is investigating a report of a serious sexual assault on a woman in Gillingham.
The incident occurred as the victim was walking on Saunders Street, near the junction with St. George’s Road, at 9:25 p.m. on Monday, August 25, 2025.
It is alleged that a man pulled the woman into an alleyway before sexually assaulting her.
The suspect, who is reported to have been in possession of a knife, was disturbed by a dog and then fled the scene.
Description
He is described as being black, in his 50s, more than 6 feet tall, with short black hair on the sides and curlier on top.
It is thought he was wearing dark jogging bottoms and dark blue Nike trainers.
Officers attended the area, and an investigation is now underway. Detectives are appealing to any witnesses who have not yet spoken to the police to come forward and contact them.
