Dean MacGregor, the Scotland Rapist, a 38-year-old man, has received a 12-year prison sentence following his conviction for sexual and violent crimes against women.
Dean MacGregor was convicted at the High Court in Edinburgh on Tuesday, December 17, 2024.
He perpetrated these offences from 2010 to 2023 on five women in Tayside and the Orkney Islands.
Dean MacGregor was sentenced today, Wednesday, 22 October 2025, at the High Court in Edinburgh.
Detective Inspector Gordon Patullo stated: “Dean MacGregor is a violent and abusive individual who inflicted prolonged suffering on these women and exhibited total indifference to the consequences of his actions.”
“We acknowledge the difficulties these investigations pose for survivors of abuse, and I hope this sentence provides some measure of closure to those impacted by his actions.”
