In 2024, Tyrese Smith, the Romford Paedophile, a then 20-year-old male, received a seven-year extended term and is classified as a public risk following his involvement in sexual conduct with a minor.

Tyrese Smith, residing on Grove Road in Romford, will undergo a term of four years and eight months in a young offenders’ institution, followed by an extended licence period of two years and four months.

This sentence followed his guilty pleas to all allegations brought against him by Essex Police, including three counts of engaging in sexual conduct with a minor.

He also acknowledged other allegations brought by the Metropolitan Police for sexual conversations with a minor and the possession of obscene photographs of minors.

Officers from the Child Abuse Investigations Team (CAIT), supported by the Adult Sexual Abuse Investigation Team (ASAIT) and the Greys Local Investigations Team, initiated enquiries following concerns regarding alleged sexual activity between Tyrese Smith and a minor in the Tilbury area last year.

This also followed reports that Tyrese Smith had violated bail conditions set by the Metropolitan Police.

Tyrese Smith was apprehended on November 27 of the previous year.

He was overheard making a notable remark when escaping the victim’s residence just hours prior, expressing his apprehension of being incarcerated for his transgressions.

Tyrese Smith declined to comment on all enquiries throughout the interview but subsequently confessed to all charges at Basildon Crown Court.

During his sentencing in court on Wednesday, February 28, he was subjected to an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order and mandated requirements as a Registered Sex Offender, which will oversee his use of electronic devices and restrict contact with minors.
