Back in 2020, Cameron Davidson, the Farnborough Paedophile, was targeted in a paedophile hunter operation after transmitting images of his genitals to a decoy he presumed to be a 12-year-old girl.

Cameron Davidson, then aged 20, was discovered in possession of indecent photos of children following his arrest on August 21 of the previous year in Barry.

Members of Alpha Predator Hunters established a profile for a 12-year-old girl, utilising a digitally altered image of a woman modified to resemble a child with a Snapchat filter, on the dating application Badoo.

Upon receiving a reply from Cameron Davidson, the decoy responded, “What is your age?” I am twelve years old and should not be on this platform. He responded that he was 19 years of age.

During a sentence hearing at Cardiff Crown Court on Friday, it was revealed that the dialogue between the defendant and the decoy transitioned to WhatsApp when Cameron Davidson commenced sending sexually explicit messages soliciting the 12-year-old to partake in sexual conduct.

During the discussions, Cameron Davidson transmitted images of his genitalia on two instances and requested the decoy to provide an image of her breasts.

An agreement was established between the two parties to convene at Barry train station on August 21; however, on the designated day, the defendant rescinded, citing excessive work commitments.

After sending a photograph of himself in his work uniform, the decoy successfully identified the address of his workplace in Barry. Subsequently, members of the paedophile hunting organisation travelled to the location to confront him and observed him walking along the street.

Prosecutor Clare Wilks stated that Cameron Davidson was confronted by two males who enquired about his name and whether he had planned to meet a 12-year-old. He said he had, although he maintained he believed the female was 18. He was held until the cops arrived and effected an arrest.

A black Samsung mobile phone was confiscated and found to contain two category A indecent photographs, four category B images, seven category C images, and nine severe pornographic images.

During the interview, Cameron Davidson acknowledged that the decoy had informed him she was 12 years old, although he asserted that he believed she was “joking”. He asserted a “high sex drive” for which he sought treatment; however, he denied any sexual interest in youngsters.

The defendant, Cameron Davidson, residing on Ship Alley, Farnborough, Hampshire, subsequently admitted guilt to charges of attempting to communicate with a minor, attempting to involve a minor in sexual activity, and possessing obscene and extreme photos.

Defence attorney Ruth Smith stated that her client was a young guy who “required assistance” and would gain from intervention by the probation agency.

During sentencing, Recorder Greg Bull QC stated: “Sexual offences are inherently grave, and the crimes you have perpetrated are expected to significantly affect your life.”

“Engaging in sexual contact with a child is universally condemned by both the judiciary and society.”

Cameron Davidson received a 21-month prison sentence, suspended for two years, and was mandated to complete a 55-day rehabilitation activity requirement along with 200 hours of unpaid labour.

Cameron Davidson was also subjected to a sexual harm prevention order and is required to register as a sex offender for a duration of 10 years.
