In 2025, Graham Southwell, the Gibraltar Paedophile, 63, of Varyl Begg Estate, was found guilty of 19 charges of child sexual abuse, encompassing rape, sexual assault, and sexual activity.

The Supreme Court has enacted a Sexual Offences Prevention Order against a convicted child sex offender who was sentenced to 39 years in prison last week.

Graham Southwell perpetrated abuse against five children on distinct times over a period of nearly 30 years in multiple locations throughout Gibraltar.

On Tuesday afternoon, he received a sentence of 39 years in custody, and on Wednesday morning, Chief Justice Anthony Dudley issued a Sexual Offences Prevention Order (SOPO).

Graham Southwell must serve ONLY a minimum of fifty per cent of his sentence before being eligible for parole.

The SOPO establishes a set of stringent measures to safeguard the public against the offender in the event of his release from incarceration.

When Graham Southwell becomes eligible for parole, he will be 82 years of age.

Johann Fernandez and Cecile Gomez represented the Crown.

Defence counsel Robert Fischel, KC, received assistance from Isabella Lombard.
