John Goff, the Gorse Hill Paedophile, from Swindon, was discovered deceased at his residence the night prior to his scheduled court sentencing.
John Goff was discovered deceased at his residence on Argyle Street, Gorse Hill, on Thursday, September 18.
The 66-year-old admitted guilt to possessing an extreme pornographic image, possessing forbidden images of a child, and creating indecent pseudo-photographs of a child at Swindon Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, July 30.
Owing to the gravity of the accusations, his case was referred to Swindon Crown Court for sentencing on Friday, September 12, which was then postponed to Friday, September 19.
A pre-inquest regarding Mr John Goff’s death commenced at the Wiltshire and Swindon Coroner’s Court on Tuesday, September 30, and the date for the final inquest hearing has yet to be determined.
During Mr John Goff’s prior court appearance, prosecutor Mr Cooper stated that the photos in Mr Goff’s possession comprised moving images of an 11 to 12-year-old boy and a six to seven-year-old girl.
From August 11, 2014, until April 7, 2023, he produced Category A indecent pseudo-photographs of children, as well as Category B and C materials.
John Goff possessed extreme pornographic photographs and two forbidden images over the same period.
