Back in 2022, Tristan Richard Hughes, the Henllan Paedophile, a “devious” sex offender, was labelled a “threat to children” after being discovered in possession of obscene photos for the fourth occasion.

Tristan Richard Hughes, from Henllan in Denbigh, has been incarcerated once more after being discovered in possession of a collection of photos depicting underage girls.

The 32-year-old was indicted for violating his sexual harm prevention order. He was additionally charged with the creation and distribution of indecent photos of minors.

This occurred after his relatives informed the police that he was concealing clandestine equipment. On Thursday, Judge Niclas Parry sentenced him to three years in prison at Mould Crown Court.

Prosecutor Jemma Gordan informed the court that Tristan Richard Hughes, diagnosed with autism, is presently monitored by authorities under a sexual harm prevention order. This prohibits him, among other stipulations, from accessing technological gadgets that are not known to them.

In November 2021, the court was informed that North Wales Police were alerted by Hughes’s sister to his noncompliance with the order’s terms. Upon arrival at Tristan Richard Hughes’ residence in Denbigh that same day, police officers were greeted by his sister, who informed them that Tristan Richard Hughes had revealed to her the existence of a phone and a laptop unknown to the authorities.

During a subsequent interview, he acknowledged violating the injunction by possessing the gadgets. Nevertheless, he asserted that the police would not discover any evidence on the laptops that violated his directive.

Ms Gordan stated that the laptop and mobile phone underwent forensic analysis, leading to the prompt revelation of his deceit. Both were discovered to possess several inappropriate photographs of young girls, approximately aged seven to twelve.

In 2013, Tristan Richard Hughes received a suspended sentence for the creation and possession of indecent pictures of minors. In November 2015, he was incarcerated for 21 months after the Llandrillo College student was discovered possessing additional indecent photographs on his mobile phone.

The prosecutor stated that his most recent court appearance occurred in October 2020. Tristan Richard Hughes was prosecuted for an additional offence concerning the creation of indecent photographs and received a two-year suspended sentence.

The defence, Simon Kileen, said that Tristan Richard Hughes is “terrified” at the prospect of returning to jail, having already served a sentence behind bars. However, he and his family understand that there would be “absolutely no alternative” for the judge.

Mr Kileen also told the court how Tristan Richard Hughes’ autism diagnosis plays a “major role” in his day-to-day thinking as well as the actions he chooses to take. He submitted that this was a factor the judge should account for when sentencing.

Judge Parry, passing a sentence of three years in total, branded Hughes a “devious” offender who was “a danger to children”. He was said to have wasted the “remarkable opportunities” that the court afforded him.

The judge said, “Quite simply, you have run out of chances. You are devious and you will lie to your family and those who want to help you – all because of this desire that you have to satisfy your admitted attraction to young children.

“It is to your family’s credit that they saw the danger and alerted the authorities. They didn’t do that to get you in trouble; they did that to stop you from getting yourself into further trouble down the line.”

The judge ordered that the existing sexual harm prevention order, which will run up to 2030 at present, should remain in place. His secret devices were ordered to be destroyed.
