A former engineer and Brixham Paedophile, David McVicker, has been incarcerated for the egregious sexual exploitation of a minor.
David McVicker, 60, inflicted numerous assaults on the girl, as presented in Exeter Crown Court.
He refuted six accusations involving a minor under 13; however, he was found guilty by a jury on all charges earlier this month.
The paedophile reappeared in court on Friday, January 21, and was sentenced to 10 years in prison.
Judge Timothy Rose stated: “You committed the act, continued to do so, and repeatedly abused the victim.”
The trial revealed that law enforcement intervened following the minor victim’s disclosure to her mother regarding the incident.
The mother stated in a victim statement that the youngster has suffered emotional distress as a consequence.
Ms Heather Hope, mitigating, said David McVicker had worked hard all his life and never expected to be going to prison at his age.
“It is his first time in custody, and it has been difficult,” she said about his time on remand.
Judge Rose ordered that David McVicker be put on the sex offenders register and be made subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
“You have committed serious offences of an extremely serious character,” the judge told David McVicker.
“The sentence has to reflect that.”
David McVicker must serve two-thirds of his sentence before release.
