Back in 2022, Marcus Benson, the Aldershot Paedophile, was sentenced to 28 years in prison following his conviction for indecent assault and rape.

Marcus Benson, 53, of Raglan Close, Aldershot, was sentenced at Winchester Crown Court after a three-and-a-half-week trial in November.

The offences occurred against three females from 1993 to 2004.

Marcus Benson rejected four charges of indecent assault involving two girls and three charges of rape involving the same two females.

Two of the charges for indecent assault and one charge for rape had multiple counts.

Marcus Benson was found guilty on all seven charges.

On Friday, January 14, Marcus Benson received a 28-year prison sentence.

Detective Constable Michelle Carrig, from Operation Amberstone North, said: “I cannot underestimate the trauma that all three victims have suffered because of what Marcus Benson did to them.

“I hope today’s sentence has provided the victims with some element of closure, knowing that Marcus Benson has been jailed for a very long time for the harrowing crimes he committed against them.

“I would like to praise the victims for showing courage by coming forward to report these offences to the police.

“I would like to encourage any other victims, or anyone who has been a victim of sexual abuse, or if they know someone who has been impacted by sexual abuse, to contact the police on 101.

“We take offences of this nature extremely seriously and victims can speak with our specialist officers with confidence.”
