Mark Nicholls, a Sheffield Rapist, was deemed ‘remorseless’ by Judge Peter Hampton, who sentenced him to a decade-long prison term during a Sheffield Crown Court hearing on Monday, March 10, 2025.
Mark Nicholls, with cowardice, attempted to evade accountability for the sexual offences he inflicted upon the adolescent by submitting not guilty pleas.
However, after jurors dismissed his account of events and convicted him, he then altered his narrative again to the author of his pre-sentence report, asserting that he had participated in consensual sexual activity with the complainant.
Judge Hampton stated to Mark Nicholls: “You acknowledge that you perjured yourself while testifying before the jury…”You were aware that she would undergo cross-examination and face allegations of deceit. You will articulate whatever is necessary to attain your objectives.
“You have exhibited no contrition.” In contrast, Judge Hampton commended the complainant—who is granted perpetual anonymity—for the ‘remarkable bravery, resilience, and strength’ she has demonstrated in coming forward and assisting in the removal of Mark Nicholls from South Yorkshire’s streets.
“The court honours you,” Judge Hampton stated to the young woman, who attended the proceedings to witness the sentencing of Mark Nicholls, aged 37.
