The Kelham Island Paedophile, Kevin Cox, aged 29, was classified as a high-risk sex offender following his 2019 convictions for offences involving indecent photos of children and voyeurism.
Kevin Cox, residing on Mowbray Street, Kelham Island, Sheffield, was issued a 10-year sexual harm prevention order (SHPO) as part of his sentence, aimed at preventing him from perpetrating additional sexual assaults.
Kevin Cox’s recent sexual offences, which include the serial rape of a 15-year-old girl – referred to as Girl A – were revealed when ViSOR (Violent and Sex Offender Register) investigators visited his residence and examined his gadgets as part of his supervision as a high-risk sex offender.
A spokesperson for South Yorkshire Police stated: “Examinations of his devices uncovered a dialogue between Kevin Cox and another girl, wherein she accused him of raping her multiple times between December 2017 and December 2018, when she was 15 years old.
”Officers interviewed the girl, who stated that Kevin Cox had connected with her on social media and that they had arranged an in-person meeting, during which Cox assaulted her sexually.
Kevin Cox subsequently utilised sexual photographs, which he had compelled her to submit, to push her into another meeting, during which he raped her on two additional occasions.
He then entered pleas of not guilty to the counts of rape concerning Girl A.
The SYP spokeswoman stated: “A jury discerned his falsehoods, resulting in a guilty verdict on all charges after a three-day trial at Sheffield Crown Court on November 21, 2024.”
Examination of Kevin Cox’s devices revealed an online interaction with a 14-year-old girl, referred to as Girl B, to whom he transmitted sexually explicit texts and photographs.
A total of 39 obscene photographs of minors were discovered on his device, over half of which were classified as Category A, the most explicit category.
Kevin Cox received a 14-year prison term and was subjected to a lifelong Sexual Harm Prevention Order during a Sheffield Crown Court hearing on January 20, 2025.
