Authorities in East Sussex have formally charged the alleged Maidstone Rapist, Mohammed Maatoug, with sexual assault involving penetration.
An English woman in her fifties reported a sexual attack by a man, Mohammed Maatoug, when she was sunbathing on the dunes at Camber Sands, Rye, at approximately 5:30 PM on 25 August.
An inquiry commenced, and on Saturday, September 6, 33-year-old Mohammed Maatoug, residing on Boxley Road, Maidstone, was apprehended on suspicion of sexual assault by penetration.
He was later charged and detained at Brighton Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, September 9.
Mohammed Maatoug is scheduled to appear in court for confirmation on 7 October.
