A Middlesbrough Paedophile, Warren Laws, who falsified his age to communicate with a minor on social media and threatened to disseminate explicit images of her to her acquaintances has been sentenced to imprisonment today.
Warren Laws, 26, from Middlesbrough, created a social media presence and misrepresented his age and looks to communicate with a 14-year-old girl online.
Warren Laws compelled the young girl to email him images, which he subsequently threatened to distribute to her peers if she failed to comply with his demands.
The Cleveland Police were promptly notified of the occurrence, leading to Warren Laws’ arrest and subsequent interrogation by officers.
His mobile phone was scrutinised, revealing additional conversations with other young females in which he again threatened to disseminate intimate images of another youngster.
While on bail, Warren Laws obstructed justice by attempting to eliminate evidence.
This offence significantly affected the child victims, who courageously delivered impactful victim personal statements in court.
Warren Laws acknowledged two charges of causing or persuading a minor to participate in sexual conduct, two charges of sexual communication with a kid, the creation of an obscene image of a child, blackmail, and obstruction of justice.
On Friday, 22nd August, he received a sentence of four years in jail, followed by three years on extended licence.
