A Scottish Sheriff informed the court that public safety would be enhanced if a Lochore Paedophile Child Molester, John Meynell, is released from custody.

The paedophile who transmitted pornographic images and videos of himself to an individual he presumed to be a 14-year-old girl has evaded incarceration and has been placed on the sex offenders register for a duration of five years.

John Meynell was conversing with an adult masquerading as a youngster, as presented before Dunfermline Sheriff Court.

The 51-year-old, John Meynell, was subsequently accosted at his residence in Lochore, with the event broadcast live on Facebook.

John Meynell, currently residing in Stalham, near Norwich, was jailed after pleading guilty to attempting to induce a child to view a pornographic image and attempting to engage in indecent communication with a child on July 29 of the previous year.

Sheriff Krista Johnston informed John Meynell that she had perused the details of the individual’s misconduct with “innate concern and revulsion,” nevertheless was convinced that there exists an alternative to incarceration.

She stated, “In my view, the public will be more effectively safeguarded through the implementation of a community-based order.”

Sheriff Johnston mandated John Meynell to complete 300 hours of unpaid labour as part of a two-year community payback order, which would incorporate a behaviour stipulation requiring him to participate in specialised courses to rectify his offending behaviour.

Prosecutor Azrah Yousaf informed the court that members of a Welsh activist group named Dank Dragon utilise many kid decoy personas online to identify paedophiles.

In this instance, a kid decoy was employed, utilising a photograph of an individual aged 18, modified with filters to appear younger.

The fiscal depute said the decoy accepted a friend request from John Meynell, who then tried to video call on “multiple occasions” and “sent over videos of himself masturbating and photos of his penis”.

The decoy told John Meynell she was 14 but he continued with the video calls and sexualised conversation.

The court heard he went on to send a picture of his erect penis and a masturbation video and told the decoy “this stays between us, don’t tell anyone” and to delete the chat.
