A Newcastle-under-Lyme Rapist, Craig Potts, has received an eight-year prison sentence after being found guilty of compelling a lady to participate in non-consensual sexual conduct.
The court was informed that Craig Potts compelled his susceptible victim to perform sexual acts on his acquaintances in early 2024.
The victim courageously reported the incident after confiding in a friend, who urged her to inform us.
Craig Potts was apprehended in May and subsequently charged, but he refuted the allegation in court.
Throughout the two-week trial, the victim valiantly presented her testimony over video link, and despite his plea of not guilty, the jury convicted Craig Potts of the act.
In addition to his eight-year incarceration, Craig Potts was mandated to pay a victim surcharge of £228 and would be subjected to a lifelong sexual offender notification obligation upon his release.
