David Seaborne, the Newport Rapist, was sentenced today, Friday, 8 August, to 20 years of imprisonment, accompanied by an extended licence period of five years, at Newport Crown Court.
The 52-year-old deviant, David Seaborne, from Newport, who contested the charges, was convicted at trial of seven counts of rape, one act of controlling coercive behaviour, and threats to kill.
The jury was informed that the defendant inflicted years of physical, sexual, and emotional abuse upon the victim.
David Seaborne exhibited verbal abuse towards the woman and exerted control over her eating, drinking, and sleeping schedules. He physically abused her and coerced her into sexual intercourse on multiple occasions.
