Detectives have commended two survivors of sexual abuse for their assistance in ensuring that the HMP Fosse Way Paedophile, Jason Usher, who raped them two decades ago gets sentenced to imprisonment.
Testimonies and evidence presented by the victims in 2021 supplied authorities with the requisite information to establish charges against Jason Usher.
The initial survivor, a little girl at the time, was repeatedly sexually attacked by Jason Usher.
The second victim, a little child at the time, also endured sexual assault during the same timeframe.
Jason Usher refuted all accusations; however, after a trial at Nottingham Crown Court in April 2025, the jury unanimously convicted him of causing a girl to engage in sexual activity, engaging in sexual activity with a minor in the presence of a child, and inciting a boy to engage in sexual activity.
Additional crimes comprised attacking a female with a bodily part and assaulting a girl by physical contact.
Jason Usher, of HMP Fosse Way, Leicester, received a 12-year prison sentence during his appearance at Nottingham Crown Court on Monday, August 4.
Jason Usher was additionally convicted of two crimes under the Children and Young Persons Act 1933, as well as one count of actual bodily harm.
The 36-year-old, Jason Usher, received a lifetime restraining order prohibiting contact with both victims, a ten-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order, and was registered on the Sex Offenders’ Register.
Jason Usher additionally admitted guilt for involvement in the distribution of crack cocaine, involvement in the distribution of heroin, and possession of illicit property.
Detective Constable Helen Winstanley, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:
“Jason Usher’s actions were deplorable and understandably, the survivors are still dealing with the effects of the abuse all these years later.
“I would like to commend the courage of the pair to come forward and make the report, as well as their ongoing strength throughout the investigation and lengthy court process.
“This outcome would not have been possible without them and also highlights how it’s never too late for victims of crime to come forward.
“We hope the jail term handed to Usher gives the victims and their families some closure.”
