Last autumn, the Bridlington Rapist, Michael Lesko, travelled to Durham with the goal to harass a lady he had previously raped.

He awaited the victim inside the bus station, and upon identifying her, he boarded the same bus and proceeded to Ferryhill.

Upon arriving in Ferryhill, the victim entered a tavern for her protection, with Lesko trailing closely behind.

The victim exited the pub, believing Michael Lesko had vanished, and proceeded home; unfortunately, he was waiting outside and commenced following her.

Michael Lesko engaged in a confrontation with the victim, forcefully shoved her, seized her hair, and elevated her before striking her head against the pavement.

Following the report of the event, the victim revealed that she had been sexually abused by Lesko and raped on a separate occasion by him.

Michael Lesko journeyed a total of 120 kilometres from his residence in Bridlington to Durham.

The 29-year-old, Michael Lesko, was convicted in March of rape, stalking, sexual assault, and assault inflicting actual bodily harm, all in violation of a suspended sentence order issued the previous year.

Michael Lesko, of New Burlington Road, appeared at Durham Crown Court yesterday morning (July 24) and received a sentence of 10 years in jail.
