The Choppington Paedophile, Martin Richards, 52, an HIV-positive individual, repeatedly raped a schoolgirl over a two-year period, as presented before Newcastle Crown Court.
The police report indicates that the former prison guard coerced his victim into silence but was ultimately apprehended when she disclosed the situation to her mother.
Martin Richards of Windsor Terrace, Choppington, dispatched many letters to the victim’s family while incarcerated, in a bid to have his case dismissed.
Martin Richards was jailed for 22 years and must serve two-thirds of his sentence behind bars.
He was also issued with an indefinite sexual harm prevention order and a restraining order.
Martin Richards will be permanently listed on the sex offenders register.
