Officers have commended the courage of a survivor who contributed to incarcerating the Newcastle Rapist, Kajal Miah, for nine years.
Kajal Miah was incarcerated for the rape and sexual abuse of a 14-year-old girl in his vehicle.
In September 2023, he appeared at Newcastle Crown Court and entered a guilty plea for rape and sexual assault.
In 2024, a judge at the same court sentenced Kajal Miah, of Westgate Court, Newcastle, to nine years of incarceration.
Kajal Miah will remain on the Sex Offenders’ Register for the duration of his life and has been issued a lifelong Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO).
