Peter Arthur Poole, the Runcorn Sex Offender, who indecently exposed himself to a woman in Runcorn and assaulted two responding cops has been incarcerated.

Peter Arthur Poole, residing at Quadrant Close, Runcorn, received a 21-month term at Chester Crown Court on Wednesday, June 11.

The 43-year-old had already entered a guilty plea for exposure, two counts of assault resulting in actual bodily harm, and possession of cannabis.

On Wednesday, 30 April, just after 4 PM, a woman reported to Cheshire Police that while she was seated in a field near Wisbech Close, Runcorn, a male approached her and indecently exposed himself.

The woman departed and contacted the police, providing them with a comprehensive description of the man, subsequently identified as Peter Arthur Poole.

Two police constables arrived at the scene and discovered Peter Arthur Poole reclined in the field. Peter Arthur Poole became contentious when authorities requested his name and personal information. He was also discovered to be in possession of cannabis.

While being handcuffed, Peter Arthur Poole struck one of the cops, resulting in the officer staggering backward. Peter Arthur Poole subsequently struck the second officer in the face, resulting in to collapse to the ground, before delivering a kick to her skull.

As the first police assisted his colleague, Peter Arthur Poole mounted the officer and endeavoured to inflict further facial harm. The two officers subdued Poole’s conduct until further patrols arrived at the scene.

He was taken into jail and subsequently charged with the charges.

On Friday, May 2, Peter Arthur Poole was previously granted a conditional discharge for cannabis possession.

Detective Sergeant Ceri Davies said:

“I welcome the custodial sentence handed to Peter Arthur Poole, who caused distress to a woman who was simply going about her day, by exposing himself, clearly intending to cause her alarm and distress.

“I would like to commend her bravery in calling police and speaking to us about what happened to her. I hope this sentence brings some closure.

“Peter Arthur Poole then went on to assault two police officers who were just doing their job.

“No-one goes to work expecting to be physically assaulted and while the nature of policing means officers will have to deal with challenging situations, that does not mean they should expect to be subjected to violence, especially being punched and kicked.

“Thankfully, the officers brought Poole under control and only suffered minor injuries, but it is clear from Peter Arthur Poole’s behaviour that he intended to cause a lot more harm.

“I hope this sends a strong message that this kind of behaviour will not be tolerated in Cheshire and anyone who commits these offences will be brought before the courts and held accountable.”
