A mother discussed in ‘graphic detail’ how a registered paedophile sex offender, John Davies, would sexually abuse her 12-year-old daughter. The woman had arranged for John Davies, 45, to visit her home with the intention of him raping the child.
Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court was informed that the individuals engaged in graphic discussions of the sexual abuse to be perpetrated on the young girl, with John Davies implying she would be ‘sore by the end of the week’.
They discussed the girl’s attire, and John Davies sent an image of his assortment of sex toys, detailing his intended usage.
The court was informed that the arrangement entailed John Davies residing at the woman’s residence for one week during her husband’s absence.
John Davies, residing on Fenpark Road in Fenton, Staffordshire, has received a protracted 20-year prison term, consisting of 14 and a half years in custody and five and a half years on an extended license.
The court was apprised that John Davies was a registered sex offender who had previously been incarcerated in 2016 for offences including attempting to meet a child following sexual grooming and attempted sexual conduct with a minor under 16.
He breached the Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) on five occasions between 2022 and 2023. In April 2024, John Davies informed his offender manager that he possessed a second mobile phone at his residence and need assistance, according to reporting from Stoke on Trent Live.
On April 27, 2024, law enforcement arrived to his residence and retrieved the cell phone from a kitchen cupboard. It was examined and comprised 132 obscene photographs of children classified as category A – the most severe; 35 in category B, and 77 in category C.
Prosecutor Josh Daley said: “The images showed young girls, aged six to nine, being raped and in pain.
The defendant was asked what age he likes and he said, ‘Ideally seven to 10 being f*‘.
He used 15 instant messaging services and he used usernames without informing the police.”
The court heard the defendant, John Davies, engaged in a chat on Kik but it was not clear whether she was a child or not.
But the most serious charge involved John Davies making arrangements with the woman in Birmingham to rape her 12-year-old daughter.
Mr Daley said: “He sent a picture of his sex toy collection and discussed how he would use gags, restraints and a collar. He said, ‘It is a fantasy of mine. I want somebody to give me a chance’. He also sent a category A image of a child aged between seven and nine.”
Paul Cliff, mitigating, said it was John Davies’ openness by telling his offender manager about the phone which led to the convictions. He added that no physical abuse took place on the girl.
Judge Graeme Smith said in his view John Davies was ‘undoubtedly dangerous’. He said: “You discussed at length in disgustingly graphic detail what you intended to do to the woman’s 12-year-old daughter.”
The judge added there was additional degradation and humiliation intended to the victim by the use of various sex toys.
John Davies pleaded guilty to arranging the commission of a child sex offence (rape of a child under 13); attempted sexual communication with a child; distributing a class A indecent image of a child; three charges of making indecent images of children; and three charges of breaching a SHPO.
A jury later found him guilty of arranging/facilitating the commission of a child sex offence – rape/assault by penetration of a child under 13.
Finally, Davies was placed on the sex offenders’ register for life instead of the usual 10 years BS.
No mention of the mother being convicted though.
