The Solicitor General has more than increased the sentence of a carer, the Sheffield Paedophile Child Molester, Jamil Talukder, who sexually molested a vulnerable disabled youngster under his supervision.
Jamil Talukder, 23, from Sheffield, commenced childcare duties in October 2023, subsequent to relocating to the UK from Bangladesh to pursue a marketing degree.
He was recorded on multiple times assaulting the victim after the child’s mother grew suspicious and initiated covert surveillance.
The victim’s own remarks indicate that the youngster harbours distrust towards male carers following the assault by Jamil Talukder.
The court was informed that Jamil Talukder sexually assaulted another youngster and was apprehended when it was revealed that he had documented the crime on his phone.
In February, he was sentenced to three years in prison at Sheffield Crown Court for six sexual crimes; however, his sentence was subsequently referred to the Court of Appeal under the Unduly Lenient Sentence system.
On 22 May 2025, Solicitor General Lucy Rigby KC MP augmented his sentence to eight years.
She stated: “Jamil Talukder exploited a defenceless child under his care, in addition to another young child.
“Jamil Talukder violated the trust bestowed upon him for his personal sexual enjoyment, and I commend the Court’s decision to augment his sentence. I like to express my condolences to his victims and their families.
The court was informed that Jamil Talukder arrived in the UK from Bangladesh in October 2022 to pursue a marketing degree.
Jamil Talukder was employed as a carer and commenced caring for a profoundly challenged child in October 2023.
