An Edinburgh Paedophile former care home employee, Brian Dailey who sexually assaulted minors under his supervision has received a second prison sentence of 15 years.
Brian Dailey, 75, was jailed for a decade in 2017 for assaulting victims from 1969 to 1979.
During the second trial, jurors were informed of Brian Dailey’s abuse of nine boys and two girls while employed at care institutions in Lanarkshire and Edinburgh.
He was adjudicated guilty at the High Court in Edinburgh the previous month.
The police conducted an investigation into these acts after victims reported them subsequent to his initial conviction.
Judge Lord Stuart stated: “You inflicted irreparable harm and tarnished the lives of those whom you victimised.”
You have inflicted irreversible bodily and psychological damage from which they can never recuperate.
You have irrevocably damaged the lives of these youngsters. They sought your care and support but were met with cruelty instead.
The former scout leader, Brian Dailey, from Firhill Park, Edinburgh, refuted the allegations made against him.
Brian Dailey was employed at Smyllum Park Orphanage in Lanark and Ladymary Residential School in Edinburgh.
Brian Dailey was convicted of molesting three youths at Smyllum Park.
Subsequent to relocating to Edinburgh in 1973, he perpetrated the rape of one girl at Ladymary and inflicted sexual and physical assaults on others.
Subsequent to the verdict, jurors were informed of Brian Dailey’s prior incarceration related to the maltreatment of several children in the 1970s.
The sentence was postponed pending reports.
