Previously found guilty of rape and causing actual bodily harm at the end of an eight-day trial, Luke Sewell, thirty, from Westgate Road in South Norwood, was imprisoned for twelve years on Thursday, November 28.
The victim, a Multiple Sclerosis (MS) sufferer, claimed police Luke Sewell had subjected her to hours of violence, including forcing her to take an hour-long cold shower, before going on to rape her at a Dunsfold, Surrey house.
The lady claimed in her impact statement: “I am still suffering with the injuries to my chest that Sewell inflicted upon me.”
“I loved to go to the gym, and it is also an essential part of managing MS to build my strength; my injuries prevent me from going.”
Luke Sewell’s sentence included an extended three years on licence because of the dangerousness of his offence. The judge also directed an indefinite restraining order to be implemented.
