Josh McDougal rapist sex offender Stockton

To paint his victim as a liar, Josh McDougal Stockton Rapist pretended to be in correspondence with her, therefore earning a ten-year prison sentence. Stockton CID investigated after Josh McDougal of Stockton sexually assaulted a woman at his house in July 2020.

The 32-year-old was arrested and charged with rape; he rejected these allegations. A jury decided him guilty of rape following the trial.

But Josh McDougal called the police to claim to receive letters containing WhatsApp conversations alleging the victim had lied about the rape while waiting for punishment.

Then he stated that although he had made copies, armed guys had pilfered the letters from his property.

After being arrested, Josh McDougal admitted to writing the letters to get away from his incarceration for the rape. Later on, he was accused of distorting the path of justice.

Appearing at Newcastle Crown Court on Monday, June 24, McDougal was sentenced to ten years in jail for rape and distorting the path of justice.

Along with a restraining order preventing Josh McDougal from contacting the woman, he was listed on the sex offenders register for a lifetime.

“This was a really horrific incident made worse by Josh McDougal’s denial of his crimes,” investigating officer DC Ward said. Then he caused more suffering by trying so mercilessly to denigrate the victim. His nasty lies made an already bad situation worse.

“I want to thank the victim for her bravery and unwavering support all through the process. Now Josh McDougal is doing a long prison term where he cannot injure anyone else.
