Predatory cab driver Steven Halton assaulted two victims, both adolescent females, in reprehensible incidents occurring around 25 years apart.
His initial victim, Girl A, reported the abuse when his subsequent victim, Girl B, approached the authorities and revealed the perpetrator’s misconduct against her.
The 58-year-old, Steven Halton, refuted any misconduct, compelling both victims to recount their traumatic experiences during a distressing trial.
He was convicted of 10 counts of indecent assault against Girl A and four charges of sexual conduct with a minor against Girl B.
Steven Halton, residing on Merlewood Avenue in Southport, asserted his continued “innocence”; however, the judge expressed confidence in the jury’s conclusions.
The paedophile had a limited history of prior convictions for dishonesty between 1985 and 1990, but none for sexual offences.
Steven Halton was incarcerated for 15 years.
