A former soldier, Patrick Queen, the Glasgow Rapist, sexually assaulted two ladies and inflicted severe attacks upon them. Patrick Queen was convicted on 11 counts after a trial at the High Court in Glasgow.
The 37-year-old acknowledged steroid abuse and violent behaviour but maintained that all sexual interactions were consensual.
The jury dismissed his assertions, and Patrick Queen is facing incarceration when he is sentenced next month.
The offences occurred from 2018 to 2023 in Glasgow and East Dunbartonshire.
He subjected his initial victim to frequent verbal abuse and physical violence.
Patrick Queen acknowledged his aggression against the second woman.
“I have to take accountability and accept it,” he said.
The ex-soldier told jurors: “I was a monster, I was an animal. My behaviour was inexcusable.”
However, he also claimed during the trial: “I stand before you a different person.”
Under cross-examination, prosecutor Imran Bashir put to Patrick Queen there were “two Patricks” – one who could be “pleasant and charming”, the other “jealous, insecure… who could be abusive”.
After the verdicts were announced, Patrick Queen turned to hurl remarks towards both victims in court and to police.
He was immediately escorted back to the cells as the hearing continued in his absence.
Judge Alistair Watson told the jury they had had to listen to evidence of an “unpleasant and shocking nature”.
He added, as a result, counselling would be available should any of them need it.
Sentencing was adjourned for reports.
