Raymond Langley, the Hove Paedophile, a former housemaster at a school in East Sussex, has been sentenced to 20 years in prison following his conviction for multiple serious sexual offences against minors.
Raymond Langley, 76, of Clarendon Road in Hove, was the housemaster and bursar at the defunct Tylehurst School in Forest Row during the 1970s.
In 2021, an inquiry was initiated following a man’s accusation of sexual abuse occurring at the institution in 1979.
Investigations revealed two victims, both now men in their 50s and 60s, who endured abuse from 1977 to 1979.
One victim recounted that Raymond Langley would bathe with the youngsters and ask some individuals to sleep in his room to ‘evade bullies.’
Raymond Langley would regularly sexually assault the victim, who was a teenager at the time, during these encounters.
The second victim alleged sexual abuse by Raymond Langley in a comparable manner, which included being exposed to pornographic material by Raymond Langley in his room before the abuse.
Both victims received specialised support upon disclosing the offences, and a comprehensive investigation was initiated.
In June 2024, Raymond Langley faced four charges of buggery with a boy under 16, four charges of indecent sexual assault, and eight charges of indecency with a child.
On 22 September 2025, a jury deliberated for barely two hours before convicting him of all charges at Lewes Crown Court.
On Friday, October 10, Raymond Langley received a 20-year sentence at the same court.
