In 2022, Raymond Baxter, the Dover Paedophile, was incarcerated for sexually abusing two girls over twenty years prior.
Raymond Baxter, a resident of Dover, perpetrated assaults on two girls, both under the age of 10, during the 1990s in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire.
In the course of the inquiry into the indecent assaults, a search was conducted at Raymond Baxter’s residence in Clarendon Place, Dover, resulting in the confiscation of computer equipment.
The equipment, comprising two laptops and one mobile phone, was examined and discovered to contain inappropriate photographs of children.
There were 50 category C photos, 24 category B images, and 30 category A images, which are the most severe.
Accompanying the photographs was also explicit pornographic content featuring animals.
Raymond Baxter, then 59, was apprehended and, during the interrogation, refuted allegations of sexually assaulting either of the young females.
He asserted that he did not intentionally download any indecent photographs of children or severe pornographic content, stating that they manifested on his computer following a “web bomb” virus.
Raymond Baxter faced trial at Cambridge Crown Court in November, accused of seven charges of indecently assaulting a girl under 14, three counts of producing indecent photos of minors, and one count of possessing an extreme pornographic image.
Jurors in the six-day trial convicted him on all charges, and Raymond Baxter was sentenced at the same court earlier this month to eight years and six months in prison.
He was indefinitely registered on the Sex Offenders Register and issued a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) that would remain in effect until further notice, monitoring any potential future offences.
