An individual, Lee Bowdler Bilsthorpe Paedophile, who secretly recorded two minors in a bathtub and subsequently disseminated highly explicit child pornography has been incarcerated.

Lee Bowdler, a 52-year-old resident of Bilsthorpe, Nottinghamshire, confessed to employing a concealed camera in a bathroom and possessing 271 illicit photos of minors, a portion of which he shared on the social media platform Twitter.

The National Crime Agency (NCA) stated that Lee Bowdler exhibited a distinct and explicit sexual attraction towards youngsters.

He received a one-year prison sentence at Nottingham Crown Court on Tuesday.

Lee Bowdler was additionally issued a 10-year sexual harm prevention order.

Lee Bowdler was discovered by the NCA when he shared explicit photos of minors on Twitter using an online alias.

In May 2022, he was apprehended at his workplace in Colwick.

Authorities discovered a total of 271 explicit photographs, including those that were classified as the most severe, on eight electronic devices belonging to Lee Bowdler.

The NCA also discovered a covertly taped video, captured by Lee Bowdler using a concealed camera, depicting two toddlers bathing.

The proceedings took place in Mansfield Magistrates’ Court on 7 February. Lee Bowdler pleaded guilty to three charges of producing explicit photographs of minors, one charge of disseminating said photographs, and one charge of engaging in voyeuristic behaviour.

According to NCA operations manager Adam Sprague, it is evident that Lee Bowdler had a strong sexual attraction towards children, as demonstrated by the videos he recorded in the bathroom and the collection of child abuse photographs he had acquired.

“Given the worldwide demand for such material, the NCA will always remain steadfast in its dedication to safeguarding children from sexual abuse and ensuring that those responsible are held accountable.”

According to a spokesperson from the NSPCC, the number of child abuse picture offences in the East Midlands, as documented by UK police, has increased by 81% in five years.

“Each of the explicit images that Lee Bowdler downloaded and distributed involves children, many of whom may have experienced abuse that could result in long-term damage,” he continued.
