On Friday, 9 January 2026, the Offender Database reported that Kinga Wydrzynska, 25, and Michal Stasiak, 27, appeared at Warwick Crown Court in connection with the horrific death of their 13-month-old daughter, Isabella Stasiak, and a catalogue of sexual and physical abuse against children.
The court heard that Isabella died in hospital on 7 January 2025 after suffering a cardiac arrest at the family home in the New Bilton area of Rugby. Following a prolonged and complex investigation by Warwickshire Police, both parents were initially charged with murder and causing or allowing the death of a child. Stasiak was also charged with possessing 100 indecent images of children, including 63 at the most severe Category A level.
In December 2025, after further forensic and medical evidence was reviewed, the charges were significantly expanded. Both Wydrzynska and Stasiak were further charged with two counts of sexual assault by penetration in relation to their infant daughter, Isabella. They were also charged with three counts of child cruelty/neglect relating to Isabella and two other children.
During the hearing on 9 January 2026, the pair entered “not guilty” pleas to the new charges of sexual assault and child cruelty. Applications by the Crown Prosecution Service for reporting restrictions to prevent the identification of the parents and Isabella were rejected, allowing their names and the nature of their alleged crimes to be made public. However, restrictions remain in place to protect the identities of the two other surviving child victims.
Kinga Wydrzynska and Michal Stasiak have been remanded in custody and are scheduled to stand trial at Warwick Crown Court on 6 October 2026. If convicted, they face life sentences and will be placed on the Sex Offenders Register for life. They are currently managed under the highest level of Multi-Agency Public Protection Arrangements (MAPPA) while in the custodial system to ensure the safety of other inmates and the public.
