In 2019, the Offender Database reported that Jose Goncalves, a Jersey Paedophile Child Molester, was incarcerated following his apprehension during a paedophile hunting sting operation.

Jose Goncalves (then 31) of Jersey was punished in court for attempting to meet a kid after engaging in online sexual grooming.

The court was informed that Jose Goncalves had reached out to the internet profile he presumed belonged to a 13-year-old girl.

Jose Goncalves transmitted sexually explicit messages to the girl, with the explicit intention of involving the girl in sexual behaviour.

During the conversation, the individual sought to provoke the youngster into engaging in sexual activities by instructing her about masturbation.

However, the youngster was non-existent and was, in fact, an adult female paedophile hunter named Cheyenne O’Connor, who masquerades online as a child to apprehend sexual predators targeting minors.

Her testimony has enabled the police to prosecute 13 male sexual offenders in Jersey and three in the UK. Four further cases are presently navigating the judicial system.

The judge imposed a 10-month prison sentence on Jose Goncalves.

Jose Goncalves was informed that he is required to register as a sex offender for five years, and a restraining order of the same duration was also enacted.
