In 2009, the Offender Database reported that John Robson, the Horden Paedophile Child Molester, a mechanic who attempted to purchase a 12-year-old girl for sexual purposes, received a three-year prison sentence and was mandated to register as a sex offender for life.

John Robson, then 36, was convicted at a retrial at Teesside Crown Court on Wednesday and received the identical sentence imposed during the initial trial in February.

A court injunction prohibiting Robson from unsupervised interaction with individuals under 16 was rescinded yesterday due to a technicality in the law.

John Robson, residing on Thorpe Crescent in Horden, near Peterlee, East Durham, is expected to be released this summer due to the duration of his prior incarceration.

He was convicted of the 2006 offence following a trial in January of the previous year, but the Court of Appeal annulled the conviction in November.

This Wednesday, the retrial jury convicted John Robson of attempting to orchestrate a child sex crime.

The court was informed that John Robson incessantly pressured a Teesside prostitute, whom he had frequented for three years, to procure a child, sending her text messages over a span of three months.

The 21-year-old, employed in the red light district of Thornaby, near Stockton, reported to the police due to her profound disgust at his messages.

John Robson’s legal counsel contended that he was simply posing a factual inquiry and had not progressed beyond the preparation to commit the offence.
