A trial date in July 2025 for the alleged Kelso Paedophile, John Price, has been established for a former police officer who has refuted many sexual offences against minors in Mid Wales and Shropshire.
John Price, 71, from Kelso, Scotland, appeared before Shrewsbury Crown Court, convened at Telford Justice Centre, where he entered a plea of not guilty to 15 charges involving three claimants from 2013 to 2015.
John Price, attired in a shirt and tie for his court appearance, faces three charges of producing indecent photos in categories A, B, and C up until 2022, which he has also refuted.
He faces allegations of three charges of sexual assault, four counts of sexual assault by penetration, three counts of enticing a juvenile to participate in sexual conduct, two counts of voyeurism, and three counts of rape.
Recorder Ben Williams noted that the subsequent significant phase of the procedure is scheduled on November 15 of this year, when a Section 38 examination is anticipated.
The trial is scheduled for July 21, 2025.
Recorder Williams told the defendant: “I’ve confirmed the timetable made when you were last in court (in July) but couldn’t be agreed because of your prior contact with a barrister instructed to represent you.
“The most important date for you is stage two is when you have to provide a defence statement that is sufficiently detailed because if you come up with things at trial it can work against you.”
John Price was bailed to remain living in Kelso, in Scotland, and was not allowed unsupervised contact with people aged under 18.
John Price was also ordered not to enter Shropshire.
