DANGER – Is the Brighton Paedophile, John Denian, living near you? Are you keeping an eye out for the convicted child molester?
He appeared at Brighton Crown Court in 2016.
The Offender Database reported that John Denian appeared at Brighton Crown Court in 2016 and was found guilty of grooming and indecent assault on a girl between the ages of five and ten between 1980 and 1985, as well as cruelty to the same youngster between 1980 and 1991.
John Denian, 65, a handyman from Dewe Road, Brighton, was sentenced to one year for the indecent assault offences, and two years, to run consecutively, for the child cruelty offences.
He also had to register as a sex offender for ten years, which ends next year in 2026.
Following John Denian’s conviction, his victim, who has anonymity under the Sexual Offences Act, said: “My childhood was filled with fear, uncertainty, unhappiness and the feeling I had nowhere to turn as a result of the violence and abuse I experienced. Every day, I became aware of little things, including my wardrobe and my personal presentation.
“I spent years terrified of John Denian, and it has been quite challenging for me to come forward and talk about this, but it was the correct thing to do.
“I wanted to face him as an adult and show him I have control of my own life, and I wasn’t afraid of him any more. Thus, I also presented my evidence in court without screens or video links.”
“I am happy he has been found guilty and can now proceed with my friends’ and partner’s ongoing support.”
