A Rothwell paedophile, Harvy Tak, whose family aspired for him to become a Buddhist monk, has been incarcerated for raping a woman while she was blindfolded and recording the assault.

Harvy Tak was convicted during a trial for many sexual offences and acknowledged numerous additional charges related to the possession of child-abuse photos.

A 29-year-old resident of Arran Way, Rothwell, was sentenced to eight years in prison at Leeds Crown Court this morning.

The court was informed that he recorded movies and captured images involving two distinct victims.

The initial individual was a university student he encountered in 2015, to whom he requested to don a blindfold and handcuffs during a sexual act, thereafter recording it without her knowledge.

He subsequently extorted her, threatening to disclose information to others unless she acquiesced to his sexual demands. The court acknowledged her evident vulnerability.

The second victim was approximately 14 or 15 years old at the time, although informed Harvy Tak that she was 16 and capable of providing permission. He documented her engaging in a sexual act with her consent.

He also presented an image of a youngster being mistreated that he had obtained from the “dark web.”

Upon his arrest, an examination of his internet equipment revealed thousands of illicit photographs of minors.

This comprised 254 Category A photographs and videos, the most severe type, involving child rape, with 154 images in Category B and 154 in Category C. Prohibited visuals included animations depicting the abuse of minors. Officers from Lancashire Police discovered them.

He was freed under investigation but was subsequently apprehended by a West Yorkshire Police officer with 132 Category A, 91 Category B, 278 Category C, and 1,324 animated images.

He was ultimately convicted of oral rape, voyeurism, and the distribution of child abuse imagery by displaying one of the victims the abhorrent photographs.

Harvy Tak acknowledged a second allegation of voyeurism for photographing the second victim. He also confessed to eight charges of possessing indecent and banned photographs.

Harvy Tak was placed on the sex offender registry forever and issued a lifelong sexual harm prevention order (SHPO).
