Back in 2019, Denis Mauger, the Chilton Paedophile, was sentenced to nine years in prison for sexual offences against a minor in Buckinghamshire during the 1970s.

Denis Mauger, 75, of Chapel Lane, Chilton, Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, HP18, perpetrated multiple indecent assaults on his victim from 1971 to 1980, during which the victim was aged six to 15 years.

On January 22, Denis Mauger was convicted by a unanimous jury of six charges of indecent assault against a female minor and was sentenced at Aylesbury Crown Court.

The offences were reported to Thames Valley Police in 2017, and Denis Mauger was prosecuted in July 2018.

Detective Constable Collette Parker of the Child Abuse Investigation Unit in Aylesbury expressed gratitude to the victim for her fortitude, bravery, and persistence during the investigation and trial.

I would want to express my gratitude to prosecution counsel Kim Preston for her efforts in obtaining this conviction.

This statement highlights the diligent efforts of the Child Abuse Investigation Unit in prosecuting perpetrators, and I urge anybody who has experienced childhood sexual abuse to disclose it to law enforcement.
