Law enforcement officials have commended the courage of a woman who reported her rape, as Daniel Oldfield, the Ipswich Paedophile, her assailant, received a 14-year prison sentence.
Daniel Oldfield, homeless, assaulted his victim in her residence in April 2022.
On the night of April 2, Daniel Oldfield, having slept in a different area of the home, invaded the woman’s bedroom, assaulted her, inflicted injury to her hand, and restrained her by the neck before departing the room.
Subsequently, that evening, he assaulted the victim once more while she was asleep, perpetrating rape and sexual assault.
He was prosecuted and detained in custody since November 2022. After a two-week trial, a jury at Ipswich Crown Court convicted Oldfield of rape and sexual assault by penetration by a majority judgment of 11-1 in August 2024.
Daniel Oldfield has been sentenced to 14 years of imprisonment and issued an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order following a hearing at the same court on 30 October 2025.
