Following the sentence of her abuser, Basildon Paedophile Daniel O’Brien, to 15 years in jail, the family of a child who was molested for two years applauded Essex Police.
For two years, between 2017 and 2019, Daniel O’Brien attacked a girl.
Our investigation started in 2021 when the offences were reported to us.
Following their inquiry, our expert Child Abuse Investigation Team charged the 38-year-old, Daniel O’Brien, with three counts of rape, two counts of sexual assault, and two counts of assault by penetration.
Following a trial at Basildon Crown Court, he was convicted guilty on all counts in April of this year.
Daniel O’Brien, of Kursaal Way, Southend, was sentenced on Thursday, June 27 to 15 years in jail, a three-year licence extension and life on the sex offender register.
He also has a lifelong Sexual Harm Prevention Order and a restraining order forbidding him from indefinitely contacting the victim or witnesses.
