The Offender Database reported that Bethany Dent-Reynolds, an HMP Belmarsh Probation Officer, has admitted to engaging in a relationship with an inmate in the United Kingdom’s most guarded prison.
Bethany Dent-Reynolds engaged in an ‘inappropriate’ liaison with inmate Kieran Robinson from February 15 to May 3, 2024, while employed at HMP Belmarsh in Woolwich, southeast London.
The 27-year-old confessed to misconduct in a public office during proceedings at Woolwich Crown Court.
The charge also pertained to causing the software Ndelius Record to execute a function with the goal of obtaining unauthorised access to data stored on a computer.
Bethany Dent-Reynolds refuted a second allegation of misconduct concerning an inappropriate relationship with Kieran Robinson from March 1, 2024, to April 20, 2024.
The charge was dismissed.
Bethany Dent-Reynolds refuted a third accusation that she induced a computer to execute a function with the objective of obtaining unauthorised access to a program or data stored within a computer, or to facilitate such access, in violation of the Computer Misuse Act 1990.
The charge was directed to remain on file.
Bethany Dent-Reynolds, from Forest Hill in southeast London, was granted unconditional release before sentencing at Woolwich Crown Court on February 6 of the following year.
Belmarsh houses some high-profile inmates, including Southport murderer Axel Rudakubana and Manchester bomb conspirator Hashem Abedi.
