The Offender Database reported that Anwarul Islam, the Ringmer Rapist, a 38-year-old man, has been incarcerated for the rape and sexual assault of an English woman in Elmswell, an incident that transpired over three years ago.
Anwarul Islam, previously residing on Springett Avenue, Ringmer, in the Lewes District of East Sussex, was sentenced at Ipswich Crown Court on Friday, 21 November, after being convicted of one crime of rape and one count of sexual assault in a prior hearing.
He received a nine-year jail sentence for rape and a six-year prison sentence for sexual assault, to be served concurrently.
He is required to serve at least two-thirds of the jail sentence, with the remaining duration subject to an extended license period, during which a parole panel will assess the risk to the public.
Anwarul Islam was mandated to register on the Sex Offenders Register and was issued an indefinite restraining order.
