In 2024, the Offender Database reported that a Truro Paedophile, Aidan Treglown, was sentenced to prison for previous child sex offences.
Aidan Treglown, 31, of Tregolls Road, Truro, Cornwall, was sentenced to five years’ jail at Reading Crown Court yesterday (9/7).
Aidan Treglown was found guilty of one count of sexual assault of a child under 13 by a unanimous jury after an eight-day trial that ended on April 24. He was also found guilty of one count of sexual assault on a minor under the age of 13 and one count of child rape by a majority of the jury.
Before the trial, Aidan Treglown pleaded guilty to two counts of sexual assault on a child under the age of 13 and causing/inciting a minor under the age of 13 to participate in sexual conduct.
Aidan Treglown was acquitted on two counts of sexual assault by penetration of a child under 13, sexual assault by touching of a child under 13, and rape of a minor.
Aidan Treglown will also be on the sex offenders registry for the rest of his life, has restraining orders against his victims, and has been handed a ten-year sexual harm prevention order.
The offences occurred in Finchampstead between 2004 and 2008.
Aidan Treglown was charged via postal requisition on April 1, last year.
According to the investigating officer, Detective Constable Adele Shaw of the Child Abuse Investigation Unit, “Aidan Treglown has now been held accountable for the terrible actions against a child.
“The victim in this case demonstrated enormous fortitude in informing someone what occurred to them.
“Thames Valley Police will work with victims to prosecute perpetrators of child sexual offences and protect the public, and I hope that this case demonstrates that time should not be an impediment for those who have been sexually abused to come forward.”
