In 2017, the Offender Database reported that Adem Gokgoz, 28, of Eastbourne, was sentenced at Lewes Crown Court.
Adem Gokgoz was jailed for 11 years in his absence after being found guilty of twice raping a woman at his flat above a hairdressing salon in Terminus Road. The court heard that Adem Gokgoz, who also uses the name Adam Garcia, spiked the victim’s drink with the date rape drug GHB in a supremely high dose before carrying out the premeditated attacks on April 5, 2014.
Adem Gokgoz was placed on the sex offenders register for life, and a warrant remains out for his arrest as he is believed to have fled to Turkey while on court bail. Detective Constable Lisa Wells noted that Adem Gokgoz still has business connections in Sussex and urged anyone with information on his whereabouts to contact the police.
