William Powell, the Beckton Paedophile, residing on East Ham Manor Way, was convicted of sexually abusing a girl under the age of 13 through inappropriate contact at Snaresbrook Crown Court on June 17, 2021.
In 2018, allegations of sexual abuse were levied against William Powell about instances that occurred two years prior, leading to his interview and subsequent charges last year.
Detective Sergeant Emma Stockman stated: “William Powell violated the trust bestowed upon him, and his offences are profoundly disturbing.”
The verdict underscores the gravity of the crimes of a perilous and predatory perpetrator.
I express gratitude to the victim for exhibiting the bravery and courage to come forward. In the absence of this, his abuse could have persisted and affected further victims.
She added: “Given the predatory nature of William Powell’s offending, there is a possibility that he abused other children.
“We encourage any additional victims to promptly contact the police – a specially trained team of detectives is prepared to listen and provide support.”
William Powell has been ordered to appear at Snaresbrook Crown Court on September 16 for sentencing.
