The Longport Domestic Abuser, Wesley Jones, has been incarcerated following a violent assault on his pregnant girlfriend. Wesley Jones seized the woman’s throat during the incident, which was observed by her two children.

The victim, two months pregnant at the time of the assault, was left disoriented as Jones, 32, seized her neck.

He also hurled her to the ground, causing damage to her £1,000 television and coffee table during the incident.

Wesley Jones has been sentenced to 26 months in prison at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court and issued a five-year restraining order after being convicted of strangulation, assault by beating, and criminal damage.

The court was informed that the victim contacted the police at 9:30 AM on June 28, 2023, after Jones declined to vacate her residence.

The cops expelled Wesley Jones, nevertheless he returned to the location around 5:50 PM. She prepared his luggage for collection; nevertheless, upon witnessing Wesley Jones’s tears, she permitted him entry.

Prosecutor Emma Swindell said: “He grabbed her throat with his right hand and strangled her. It restricted her breathing and made her feel dazed.

“He went to her bedroom and tipped the wardrobe over and kicked things around her room. Downstairs, he grabbed hold of her and threw her to the floor.

“She hit her head. He broke the coffee table and threw a television worth £1,000 at the wall and punched it destroying it.”

In a victim statement the woman said the relationship has ended. She was left crying continuously and very upset.

Wesley Jones, of Longshaw Street, Longport, denied strangulation, assault by beating and criminal damage but was convicted by a jury after a trial at North Staffordshire Justice Centre.
