A paedophile from Romford, Wesley Clarke, asserted to the police that he purchased a £700 ‘child’ sized sex doll to ‘save money’ due to its reduced dimensions.
In June 2021, Border Force agents at Stansted Airport thought they had found a non-breathing naked kid inside a shipment.
Within the parcel directed to Mr. Wesley Clarke, residing on Chelmsford Avenue in Romford, was a sex doll, so juvenile in its visage that even Wesley Clarke was taken aback upon first sighting it.
Shortly thereafter, law enforcement officials converged on Wesley Clarke’s residence, uncovering two other sex dolls.
Detective Constable Kerry Smith reported that one individual was attired in a black skirt and appeared to be 13 years old, while the other was unclothed and seemed approximately 15 years old.
Officers discovered four plastic prosthetic eyes, two skirts suited for four-to-five-year-olds, and a frock and t-shirt designated for tiny children.
During interrogation at Romford Police Station, Wesley Clarke, 43, confessed to acquiring the imported sex doll for approximately £700 from a company named ‘Lovedolls’, but asserted that its childlike appearance was a result of his attempt to economise by selecting a smaller model.
“It was cheaper that he selected 4ft11 in tall and the smallest breasts,” prosecutor Margaret Anucha told the Old Bailey on Wednesday (August 13), recalling what Wesley Clarke had claimed in his interrogation.
“He did not select for the doll to have a teenage appearance. He said the webpage only showed one photo of the doll dressed and laying on a bed. He did not see the final product before it was sent.”
Wesley Clarke repeatedly denied knowing the doll would look like a child, and claimed the children’s clothing at his home were the only items small enough to fit.
Under pressure for answers however, Wesley Clarke confessed a sexual interest in uniforms and schoolchildren.
He pleaded guilty to all the offences at Barkingside Magistrates Court on June 18.
When police showed him a photo of his seized doll, Wesley Clarke said: “Wow. That is not what I was expecting.”
Asked what he would have done if it was delivered, Wesley Clarke claimed he would have put it straight in his attic because he has no way of driving stuff to the dump.
Out of three laptops, three phones, a hard drive, USB stick, and an iPad only one device was clean of illegal images.
Wesley Clarke, 43, would later demand his work phone back, telling police: “I don’t mix business with pleasure.”
The devices contained more than 17,000 prohibited cartoons of children, forty indecent images in Category A (the worst penetrative child sexual abuse imagery), and 52 extreme porn images involving the abuse of animals.
Wesley Clarke was charged with the importation offence, two counts of distributing indecent photos, three counts of making indecent images, one count of possessing prohibited images, and one count of possessing extreme pornography.
