An appeal has been initiated following the sentencing of an east London man, Vruj Patel, the Newham Paedophile, to 22 years for grave sexual offences.

Met detectives, conducting an investigation into a child sexual assault that revealed more sexual offences, are now soliciting new victims to come forward.

Vruj Patel, 26 (born 22 March 1999), of Selsdon Road E13, was sentenced to 22 years in prison today, Tuesday, 7 October, at Snaresbrook Crown Court.

He was additionally registered as a lifelong sex offender.

Vruj Patel previously entered a guilty plea to charges of child rape involving a victim under 13, child assault by penetration against a victim under 13, and four counts of inducing a child under 13 to engage in sexual activity concerning one victim; as well as rape of a woman over 16 and sexual assault by penetration related to a second victim, in addition to possession of indecent images of children and voyeurism.

Kishan Patel, his brother, was also sentenced today to 15 months for possessing obscene photos of children at the same court. He will additionally be subjected to a 10-year sexual harm prevention order.
