Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court was informed that the 23-year-old, Tristan Shaughnessy, who has ten siblings, solicited a schoolgirl for ‘sexual intercourse’ in communications sent between August 1, 2022, and October 1, 2022.
His nefarious actions were revealed within one year following his conviction for residing in a dwelling with three minors in 2021, so violating the notification obligations associated with his status on the sex offenders’ register.
Tristan Shaughnessy, residing on Canary Road, Adderley Green, admitted guilt to one charge of engaging in sexual communication with a minor under the age of 16.
The defendant has been granted unconditional bail.
Tristan Shaughnessy is scheduled to be sentenced at the same court on November 25.
